The Lakers face off against the Nuggets at Staples Center tonight. Hoping to end a four game losing streak, the Lakers will need all the help they can get. Luckily, Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black are both considered likely to play tonight after suffering ankle injuries on Sunday.
Clarkson and Black are expected to play tonight

Clarkson has struggled a bit this year, but he is still one of the Lakers’ better players. The athletic guard has picked up his play recently, averaging 17 points on 56.7% shooting in the last three games. While he no longer projects as a long term starter because of his inconsistent three point shooting and defense, he can still be sixth man of the year candidate for years to come in Los Angeles. As for tonight, he will be able to provide scoring off the bench, and there is 50-50 chance he will catch fire from deep.
Tarik Black has been very good this year. The 25 year-old is averaging 6 points and 5 rebounds in just 15 minutes per game, providing the team with quality play off the bench. He has arguably been better than Timofey Mozgov, but the 64 million dollar man will start because… Well, he is the 64 million dollar man. In any case, having Black’s hustle off the bench will help.
It’s good news when any player on your team is healthy. Having two rotation players like Clarkson and Black, who play big roles, is even better.
