Lavar Ball thinks all his boys will be Lakers

Five players the Lakers should look at late in the draft

Saw something on ESPN that I thought a few times about clicking on… Lavar Ball discusses his wife, his life advice, and the future of his sons. Advice, LOL. I’m not a fan of Lavar or his words, actions, etc… You get the point. As talked about in a Lakers Pulse group chat, Lonzo Ball seems like a great kid, but the package that comes with drafting him #2 overall, his father, might be too much.

As John Goodman of ESPN writes, Lavar and Lonzo sat down at their house and talked about varies topics.

Lavar Ball states that all 3 sons, Lonzo (declared for NBA Draft), LiAngelo (incoming freshman at UCLA), and LaMelo (junior at Chino Hills HS and committed to UCLA), will all be one-and-done.

“All my boys are gonna be one-and-done. Gelo [LiAngelo] is going [to] be one-and-done whether he’s good or bad,” LaVar said. “I’m going to put him in the draft, hope they don’t take him. Bring him into the Lakers as a free agent, let him wind up with his brother and watch how good they play together.”

Per John Goodman, multiple scouts and NBA executives don’t even have incoming freshman LiAngelo on their 2018 draft boards.

Lavar also thinks his youngest son, LaMelo, will join the Lakers down the road, after his lone season at UCLA in 2019-2020.

“I’m going to do the same thing with Melo,” LaVar said. “And we get three of the Ball boys on the Lakers together, and we gonna go championship, championship, championship, championship, championship. You think I’m playing? You saw what they did in high school.”

Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink.

Sure, LaMelo Ball was a huge part of why his team made another deep playoff run. Sure, he scored 92 points in a game. People say he’s lights out from beyond the arc, but I did some research and wanted to find a few box scores from this season.

LaMelo Ball, 8-33, 8-28 from deep.

92 points. Did anyone see this? Just for funsies. I get it, it’s high school, he didn’t have to play defense, but put some respek on basketball.

Anyways, you get the point. I’m no NBA scout, but I don’t see LaMelo being good in college, let alone the NBA? C’mon Lavar.

The NBA Draft is coming upon us fast, only 12 days away. The Lakers worked out Lonzo this past Wednesday, and Josh Jackson the following day. Dennis Smith Jr. this Sunday, in a group workout.
