David Nwaba’s team option is picked up

After an eventful offseason so far, the Lakers made another franchise changing pick. With the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select, “Big Baller Brand” Lonzo Ball. This was the third #2 overall pick by the Lakers in a row, the first two being D’Angelo Russell in 2015, and Brandon Ingram last summer.

The selection came about 48 hours after the news of D’Angelo Russell being traded to the Nets, something none of us saw coming.

Lonzo Ball will join 19 year old forward Brandon Ingram, along with Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, and Brook Lopez, the projected starting 5 for the Lakers next year.

With Paul George not being traded yet, the Lakers will make 2 more selections in the draft tonight, #27 and #28.
