Troll of The Month

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Lakers Pulse Troll of The Month (TOTM) column. Each month of the season, I will find an up and coming “Internet Cowboy” on social media, and highlight his or her Lakers-related hot takes, instigating posts, or cringe-worthy criticisms. To be fair, I will also reach out to each ostentatious ogre, and give them an opportunity to have the last word. Remember kids, no troll is safe. If you find yourself hovering over the post button, think twice before you click.
In the words of legendary internet troll, Ken M.:
“there’s actually more cells in our brains than there are brains in our entire body.”
This month’s feature troll is Twitter’s @CjMaraj
Twitter Handle: @CjMaraj
Favorite NBA Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
Age: approx. 23-27 years
Status: Laker Hater
Music: Nirvana, Drake
Interests: COD, fishing, Trolling
My first interaction with with @CjMaraj came as a comment off of my 2016/17 Lakers win projections article. I suggested 28-30 wins, and he trolled right into my life with this classic bold prediction:
Considering the Lakers are already 3-3, largely due to D’angelo Russell’s consistently excellent play at the point, it is clear that we were both wrong. It’s early, but with several teams underperforming in the Western Conference (NO, PHX, DAL, etc.), the Lakers have a decent chance to win 30+ games.
While we are on the topic of Russell, @CjMaraj has some interesting takes on the sophomore phenom out of Ohio State.
Russell is averaging 16-3-5 so far, and playing key minutes for the Lakers, who have already beaten the Hawks, Rockets, and Western Conference Champion Golden State Warriors.
Shumpert is averaging 7-2-2 in limited minutes, as a reserve for the Cavaliers.
I reached out to @CjMaraj to get his take on the Lakers domination of the Golden State Warriors, and he gladly provided it:
Of course there was the common Lebron>Kobe troll…
And a less than glowing endorsement of the Lakers squad as a whole…
With one of the most exciting and talented groups of young prospects in the league, the Lakers are on the rise. Trolls like @CjMaraj need to get their jabs in now, while they still can.
Special thanks to @CjMaraj for being a good sport. Follow him for Cavs, Laker hater, Drake, and video game news, notes, and hot takes.
