Next week, the Lakers will know if the basketball gods have rewarded them with another top 3 pick or not. If the Lakers are lucky enough to keep their pick, it appears they have their eyes set on four prospects.

According to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report the Lakers are “locking in on Lonzo Ball, Markelle Fultz, Josh Jackson, and De’Aaron Fox:

Either the Lakers will start locking in on UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, Washington point guard Markelle Fultz, Kansas forward Josh Jackson and under-the-radar Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox—the four players they are most considering in the top three, according to league sources…or they won’t.

Each prospect brings something different to the table, but all 4 seem to fit seamlessly with the current young core.

With Johnson and Pelinka expected to attend the draft combine this week, they will get a closer look at Fultz and Fox who plan on attending.

The Lakers have a 46.9% chance to stay in the top 3, and while this pick may not be as crucial as years past, it will continue to accelerate the rebuilding process either developing the player or using the pick in a trade.
