Lakers have given qualifying offers to Jordan Clarkson, Tarik Black & Marcelo Huertas making all 3 restricted, not Ryan Kelly @BBallInsiders

By extending a qualifying offer, the Lakers have made the 3 restricted free agents. This means that the 3 are likely to stay on the team unless another team overpays them significantly. The surprising name on this list for me is Tarik Black. With the Lakers drafting a center in Ivica Zubac, I thought Tarik Black was expendable. The Lakers also invited Zach Auguste to summer league who many think is a better Tarik Black. Black provides energy off the bench and has shown to be a great locker room presence. The Lakers likely factored this into their decision.
Jordan Clarkson is the big name on this list. With Clarkson’s big free agency looming, the Lakers want to ensure Clarkson is with them long-term. By extending the qualifying offer, the most a team can offer Clarkson is the Arenas Rule. This all but guarantees Clarkson will be a Laker come opening night. I expect the Lakers and Jordan Clarkson to come to an agreement on a flat rate instead of matching an offer sheet.
The Lakers off-season is kicking into high gear. I expect there to be a lot of movement.
