Ever since becoming an unrestricted free agent, 24 year old Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has seen interest from many teams, one being the Lakers. The Lakers were never in talks with the big free agents this year, (Hayward, Blake, etc..) but have been in talks to land 2nd or 3rd tier free agents. The Lakers missed out on two very reasonable free agents, George Hill and Dion Waiters, guys who each signed a contract for more than 1 year – which is what the Lakers are looking for. Here is what Adrian Wojnarowski had to say about KCP and the Lakers, on Friday.
Sources: If Caldwell-Pope's willing to do a one-year balloon deal, the Los Angeles Lakers have significant interest in pursuing him.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Lakers met with KCP today. Per Bobby Marks, the Lakers are one of the only teams teams with ~ 17 million in cap space, the range KCP seems to be in. But would he be down to sign for 1 year, or a 1+1? Who knows.

The Lakers are sitting with $17M in cap space. One of the few remaining teams with $15M+ in room.

I would personally love Caldwell-Pope on the Lakers. LA would start a lineup of Ball, KCP, Ingram, Randle, and Lopez. Not bad…
