David Nwaba has been a fan favorite ever since he was signed to his first 10 day contract. During his time, head coach Luke Walton has garnered a soft spot for Nwaba. He is a player with a great defensive motor, who has a long wingspan that can allow him to potentially be a really good/elite defender. The bench is not the most effective defensive unit and Nwaba certainly helps. His activity on that end has earned him this contract and potential even a contract to end the year:

The Lakers might end up waiving another bench warmer for another D-League call-up. Let’s hope this move is not the end of the Lakers going down the D-League well.
