Bad news came across the wire today regarding D’Angelo Russell, and his ailing knee is more serious than previously anticipated.
D'Angelo Russell will not travel with the team to Golden State, or play tonight against the Thunder, the Lakers announced.

After a tentative performance on Sunday it was determined that even though Russell was cleared to play, he was not exactly ready. Reports came out that he was tentative to drive the paint for fear of injuring his knee further than it was now. This could be the reason he settled for 3’s instead of driving into the paint, including a questionable three pointer early in the shot clock towards the end of the game. Hopefully with some rest things will heal themselves and we can get Russell back before it becomes anything catastrophic. That said there is no reason to rush him back this early in the season.
Julius Randle hurt
In other news Julius Randle is listed as questionable with a hip pointer.

Randle will be a game time decision though he was in warmups testing it out before game time.

With Russell out losing Randle, 2 of the 5 starters, will be tough against a team that always plays hard against the Lakers the Oklahoma City Thunder. As of now no word has been released but we will certainly keep you informed once the news drops. Until then hope that Randle plays and hope that Westbrook only beats who ever starts on him, and doesn’t completely torch them.
