Lakers fans got some pretty bad news today. After missing last game with a sore knee, it has come out that D’Angelo Russell will not miss 2-3 weeks after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection.

Any amount of missed time is a bummer, but we should be happy that this isn’t a serious injury. Russell will be missing time due to the treatment, not the injury and should suffer no effects after the 3 week window. For those of you wondering exactly what this treatment is, its the magic knee treatment Kobe got a few years back the rejuvenated him late in his career. Here’s a better explaination
For those who don't know what a PRP injection is. Basically they super charge the patients blood and reinsert it back into the patient pic.twitter.com/Z9NeGGxO7s

The Lakers are dealing with their toughest stretch of the season, but long-term health is more important. Expect Jose Calerdon to start in place of Russell like in the OKC game and Marcelo Huertas to see the floor.
Julius Randle will also be out vs the Warriors as he deals with a hip injury, but this injury is far less worrisome and he should be back in the lineup next game.
